Casablanca to Marrakech, Sahara Desert, Fes and Chefchaouen

 

 

The Desert Escapades 12 day tour gives us the opportunity to show you some of the greatest highlights of our amazing country, from the most beautiful of our historic cities to the awe inspiring desert landscape. The drives in between are an integral part of the experience and at every turn in the road you will see sights to take your breath away, from earthen villages which seem to grow organically from the land to lush green valleys which follow the course of the rivers as they wind their way through the mountains and gorges.

 

Itinerary

 

Day 1: Casablanca Airport to Marrakech

 

We will meet you at the airport in Casablanca to make the transfer to Marrakech where we will take you to your Riad/Hotel.

 

Drive time approx 2.5 hours

 

Day 2: Marrakech

 

Explore the city of Marrakech on your own or with a local guide. Whatever your interest we can design a tour to suit, be it gardens, architecture, cuisine, shopping, Marrakech has it all!

 

• Walk through the souks of the medina and watch the artisans as they work their magic

• Visit the famous square “Jamaa L’fna” home to story tellers, music makers, henna ladies and vendors of curious wares

• Visit the Saadian Tombs and Bahia Palace to marvel at the exquisite architecture 

• Tour the Majorelle Gardens or the Secret Garden in the medina

 

Day 3: Marrakech to Telouet Kasbah and Ksar Ait Benhadou 

 

• Pick up at riad/hotel after breakfast at 8am

• Cross the high Atlas Mountains via the route of the Tizi n'Tichka pass

• Drive through the beautiful Ounila valley, home to many Berber villages, stopping to visit the Kasbah of Telouet one of the most stunning kasbahs in the mountains

• Arrive at the Ksar of Ait Benhadou in time for a tour of the kasbah before sunset

• Spend the night in a hotel near the kasbah

 

Day 4: Ksar Ait Benhadou to Ouarzazate Studios, Skour Oasis, Nomads Caves and Dades Gorges:

 

• Visit the Studios of cinema in Ouarzazate.

• Stop by the kasbah of Taourirt

• Driving through the Oasis of Skoura ( the valley of thousands kasbahs)

• Visit the nomad caves in the mountains ( off Road driving )

• Arrive to the valley of Dades

• Spend the night in a hotel in the valley

 

Day 5: Dades to Toudgha valley, Erfoud and  Merzouga Desert :

 

• Visit the Gorges of Toudgha.

• Visit the irrigation system before Erfoud

• Visit the Fusils workshop

• Camel ride for the sunset on the dunes

• Spend the night in Berber tents inside the dunes ( night photos of the stars )

Day 6 : Merzouga desert and Erg Chebbi full day:

​

•    Visit Khamlia village to slaves music.

•    Drive around the dunes to see the nomads and have tea with them. 

•    Off-Road Adventure.

•    Back to Spend the night in Berber tents at your desert camp and eat your evening meal by candlelight under the stars

Day 7: Merzouga to Fes:

 

• Passing but Ziz Valley stop for photos

• Passing by the city of Medalte and Ifran

• Visit the monkies forest

• Arrive to Fez at the sunset

 

Day 8: Fes explore the city, guided walking tour

• Visit the Medina

• Visit the Tanaries

• Visit the Medrasa Bouaanania

• Visit the Souks

 

Day 9: Fes to Chefchawen

 

• Leave the city after Breakfast.

• Visit volubelis (old Roman city ).

• Arrive to Chefchawen before sunset, and drop you at your Riad/Hotel.

 

Day 10: Chefchawen.

 

Free day to explore the city and experience the lifestyle of the city.

 

• Walk in the blue medina

• Visit Ras Elma

• Walk up to the top of the little mountain where the old Mosque is for the sunset and panoramic photos

 

Day 11: Chefchawen to Casablanca.

 

• Visit the city of Rabat

• Visit the Mosque of Hassan the Second in Casablanca

• Drop you at your Hotel.

 

Day 12: Take you to the Airport, dependent on time.

    You should be at the airport 2 hours before your flight
