Marrakech to Merzouga Desert and Returning to Marrakech via Agdez

 

4 Days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will take you across the high Atlas mountains and through palm filled valleys in Dades , Toudgha to arrive amidst the mesmerising dunes of the Merzouga desert and the famous Erg Chebbi .

Itinerary

 

Day 1: Marrakech - Dades Gorge

​

• Pick up at riad/hotel 8am

• Cross the high Atlas mountains 

• Visit Ait Benhadou which is the most important Ksar and Kasbah in the south, a UNESCO world heritage site and setting for many movies

• Drive through the Oasis of Skoura (the valley of a thousand kasbahs)

• Arrive in the valley of Dades by sunset

• Enjoy your evening meal and spend the night in a hotel in the valley

 

Day 2: Dades Valley -Merzouga Dunes

 

• Leave after breakfast at your hotel

• Visit the Gorge of Toudgha and enjoy a short walk

• Stop for lunch in the Berber village of Tinjdad or Toroug 

• Visit a workshop of fossils

• Arrive in Merzouga desert for your camel ride to view the sunset from the dunes

• Spend the night in the Hotel near the Dunes

 

Day 3 : Merzouga desert and Erg Chebbi full day:

​

•    Visit Khamlia village to slaves music.

•    Drive around the dunes to see the nomads and have tea with them. 

•    Off-Road Adventure.

•    Back to Spend the night in Berber tents at your desert camp and eat your evening meal by candlelight under the stars

 

Day 4: Merzouga - Marrakech

 

• Set off at 8am after breakfast in the desert camp

• Pass by the towns of Errisani, Alnif and N’kob 

• Drive through the Draa valley and have lunch at an ancient kasbah 

• Cross the mountains of Ait Sawen followed by the High Atlas mountains

• Arrive back at your riad/hotel around 7pm

If you think one night is enough for you in Merzouga desert, we can spend the last night in Agdez in the heart of Draa Valley.
