Marrakech to Merzouga Desert and Erg Chebbi Camel Trek

 

The 5 day tour gives you the luxury of time to immerse yourself in all the south of Morocco has to offer, it's ancient kasbahs, the Merzouga desert, Erg Chebbi and the valley of Draa which is the largest vally of palms in Morocco.

Itinerary

 

Day 1: Marrakech - Dades Gorge

​

• Pick up at riad/hotel 8am

• Cross the high Atlas mountains 

• Visit the Kasbah of Amridil in Skoura.

• Drive through the Oasis of Skoura (the valley of a thousand kasbahs)

• Arrive in the valley of Dades by sunset

• Enjoy your evening meal and spend the night in a hotel in the valley

 

Day 2: Dades Valley -Merzouga Dunes

 

• Leave after breakfast at your hotel

• Visit the Gorge of Toudgha and enjoy a short walk

• Stop for lunch in the Berber village of Tinjdad or Toroug 

• Visit a workshop of fossils

• Arrive in Merzouga desert for your camel ride to view the sunset from the dunes

• Spend the night in the Hotel near the Dunes

 

Day 3 : Merzouga desert and Erg Chebbi full day:

​

•    Visit Khamlia village to slaves music.

•    Drive around the dunes to see the nomads and have tea with them. 

•    Off-Road Adventure.

•    Back to Spend the night in Berber tents at your desert camp and eat your evening meal by candlelight under the stars

 

Day 4: Merzouga - Ouarzazate

 

• Set off at 9am after breakfast in the desert camp

• Visit the towns of Errisani, and it's old souk.

• Order a Berber Pizza for picnic near the Saghro Mountains.

• Drive through the Draa valley 

• Visit Tamnougalt Kasbah.

 

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Marrakech

 

• Start at 8am, after breakfast.

• Visit Ait Benhadou Kasbah which is the most important Ksar and Kasbah in the south, a UNESCO world heritage site and setting for many movies.

• Drive throught Ounila valley. 

• Visit Taleouat Kasbah 

• Arrive back at your riad/hotel around 5:30pm
