Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert

Itinerary

 

Day 1: Fes – Ifran – Medalt - Errachidia –Erfoud – Merzouga :

 

We will start this long journey at 8:00AM from your Riad in Fez.

 

• Visit the city of Ifran

• Visit the forest of monkeys

• Pass by the biggest forest of cedar trees in the Middle Atlas Mountains

• Passing by the city of Midalte where we will have Lunch

• Passing but Ziz Valley stop for photos

• Visit the fusils workshop in Erfoud

• Arrive to Merzouga Desert camp before the sunset

• Camel ride tour to the big dunes to see the sunset

• The night will be in the Berber tent as nomad families do

 

Day 2: Merzouga desert full day

 

After breakfast, we will take the 4WD and start the off-road adventure.

 

• Visit Merzouga Village

• Visit Khamlia village for slave’s music

• Drive around the dunes to see the nomads and have tea with them

• Back to the hotel for the night after sunset on the dunes (with or without camels)

 

Day 3: Merzouga Desert -  Tinjdad Dades – Toudgha Gorges & Valley – Dades Gorges.

 

Leave the desert camp after breakfast towards the gorges of Dades after breakfast.

 

• Visit the old irrigation system in the Morocco Sahara Desert

• Visit the gorges of Toudgha and have little walk there

• Stop by the valley of Toudgha for photos

• Have lunch after visiting the gorges

• Visit the valley and the gorges of Dades , specially the Zigzag road (the road where the Cadillac car commercial video was shot)

• Spend the night the hotel

 

Day 4: Dades Gorges - Ksar Ait Benhadou - Marrakech.

 

We will start out journey to Marrakech at 8:00AM

 

• Cross the valley of roses and Kalaa Magouna town

• Driving through the Oasis of Skoura after lunch (the valley of  a thousand kasbahs)

• Visit the cinema studios in Ouarzazate (optional)

• Visit Ait Benhadou which is the most important Kasbah in the south, UNESCO world heritage set and a movie set too

• Cross the high Atlas Mountains and the famous pass Tizi N’tishka “2260m”

• Drop you at your Riad/hotel in Marrakech at about 5:00PM
